Description

The RTL-SDR Blog V4L (Lite) is a compact and cost-effective USB software defined radio receiver. Built around the RTL2832U chipset and R828S tuner with a diplexed HF and UHF/VHF input, the V4L delivers improved sensitivity over the V4 by reducing the number of input filtering branches, while retaining core features including a 1 PPM TCXO, built-in HF upconverter, bias tee circuit, and aluminum enclosure with passive cooling.

Unlike the V4 which uses a triplexed input, the V4L (Lite) design uses a diplexed input between HF and UHF/VHF. With one fewer branch for input filtering, the result is improved sensitivity – making it a strong choice for applications where reception performance matters.
